Secular psychology, focusing both on the intrapsychic and the interpersonal has greatly broadened our understanding of the individual and aided in the treatment of emotion and behavior. But are a human’s deepest concerns satisfied when difficulties are reduced or absent in this sphere? Explore the spiritual approach to the self found in explicitly religious thinkers, such as Rav Kook, and born witness to unwittingly by atheistic thinkers, such as Jean-Paul Sartre.
